Musician, filmmaker and humanitarian Michael Franti is performing at the Taylor Family Foundation's 27th annual Day in the Park auction fundraiser Sunday at Camp Arroyo in Livermore.
The foundation helps children living with life-threatening and chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities. Its Camp Arroyo is a residential camp in the 138-acre Del Valle Regional Wilderness that gives these children a place year-round to explore, learn and grow in an ideal outdoor setting. It opened in 2000.
The fundraising event will include local celebrities, including news personalities and food and wine editor Narsai David, with gourmet food and wine from top restaurants and wineries.
Rare live auction items include private chef dinners and sports packages, private air accommodations to red carpet events, luxurious vacations and other glamorous packages. Tickets for the event are $200; visit www.ttff.org or call 455-5118.
The Taylor Family Foundation uses grants to help families pay for clothing, funeral expenses and medical devices. It also has a mobile music therapy program called Sophie's Place, in partnership with Wells Fargo and the Forever Young Foundation, which bring music therapy to the camp as well as those who are homebound or in Northern California hospitals.
