The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) is once again offering its Try Transit to School promotion next week, enabling Tri-Valley middle and high school students to ride free system-wide.

Now in its 17th year, the promotion offers unlimited rides to students on all regular Wheels and Rapid bus routes from Monday through Sept. 1, including weekends and outside of school hours.

Try Transit to School aims to introduce students to local bus services and show them “how efficient and easy it is to ride transit to and from school,” LAVTA officials said. “The program also offers parents a safe, convenient and eco-friendly alternative for school transportation.”

To participate, students need only board a Wheels or Rapid bus and ride; no ticket or pass required. For route and schedule information, visit www.wheelsbus.com or call 455- 7500
