Victim identified in fatal crash near Livermore

Accident occurred on I-580 Sunday

A 79-year-old woman who died after the minivan she was in went down an embankment off of I-580 near Livermore Sunday has been identified as Rosario Ordillas.

Ordillas, a Modesto resident, was in a minivan that had been traveling west on I-580, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 9:45 a.m., the minivan was approaching Greenville Road when it veered off the roadway and went about 100 feet down an embankment, causing it to land on its side, Alameda County Fire Department officials said.

Ordillas was pronounced dead at the scene, according to fire officials.

The driver of the minivan, a woman, was taken to a hospital with major injuries. An update on her condition was not immediately available.
