Popular picture book author and illustrator Jon Agee will make a special summer visit to the Pleasanton Library at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The recipient of numerous national awards and “best of” designations, Agee will kick off a national book tour introducing his latest work, Lion Lessons.

Agee has authored and illustrated over 30 books for children, including such titles as The Incredible Painting of Felix Clousseau, Milo’s Hat Trick, and The Retired Kid.

Reflecting a captivating fascination with language and wordplay, his books combine compelling art with a quirky, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. His signature cartoon-like illustrations, clean graphic design and engaging characters have won him legions of fans among both children and adults.

No registration is required for this free event, which is best for children ages 5 and older. Co-sponsor Towne Center Books will have copies of Agee’s books on hand for purchase and

autographing.
