Warriors win, face Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday at Oracle Arena

Game 1 of NBA finals to start at 6 p.m.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 96-88 last night to advance to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in a series that will start Thursday at Oracle Arena.

Golden State guard Stephen Curry led all players with 36 points in Monday night's game.

Curry, who earlier this month was named the first unanimous MVP in NBA history following a season in which Golden State had a league-record 73 wins, will seek to defend the Warriors' 2014-15 championship in a rematch with the Cavaliers.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at the arena.
