Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will hold a job fair March 10 in hopes of filling 80 positions in the field of Information Technology, Environment Safety & Health, Management & Budget, and Human Resources.

More specifically, the Lab is looking for new and experienced technicians in the fields of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, health and safety, and laser optics. Other jobs are available for electricians, drafters, system administrators, boiler mechanics and plumbers.

Candidates from across the Bay Area and outlying communities are invited to attend, especially recent graduates with some experience and students graduating with Associate Degrees from local community colleges.

“We have needs throughout our career spectrum,” said Randy Pico, the Lab’s Engineering Directorate’s senior superintendent.

“We do this so rarely in our own community, so it’s an incredible opportunity for people to come in and meet (recruiters) from the lab,” he added. “It’s a really exciting time for us. We just feel strongly that our local pipeline is ready for this.”

The last such job fair occurred in 2001, Pico said.

The Career Fair will be held from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Ave. in Livermore.
