Pleasanton's Cub Scout Pack 944, Girl Scouts give 'thanks'

Proceeds from popcorn sales helping the homeless

Cub Scout Pack 944 gave "thanks" this holiday season by using some proceeds from popcorn sales to create care packages for homeless individuals.

The scout pack, based at Fairlands Elementary School, joined Girl Scout Troops 30058 and 30980 to send care packages through the San Francisco Homeless Outreach Team.

"The boys ... learned that serving people with needs is a wonderful way of showing gratitude for all they have in their lives," said Tim Totah, whose son is in Cub Scout Pack 944.
