The Dublin San Ramon Services District board has decided to appoint a representative to fill the open seat on the board.
The water agency will be accepting nominations for the open board seat. The vacancy comes after former board member Dawn Benson resigned in August to pursue a job within the district.
The appointed board member's term will run through 2016, half of the remainder of Benson's term, the district stated in a release.
The official will have voting authority about decisions that affect the water and wastewater retailer, which provides services to Dublin, San Ramon, the Dougherty Valley and wastewater to Pleasanton on contract.
To apply, candidates should submit an application, which can be found on the department's website under "News," to district secretary Nicole Genzale by 5 p.m. on Sept. 28 via email@example.com. Applications can also be mailed to the attention of the district secretary at Dublin San Ramon Services District, 7051 Dublin Blvd. Dublin, CA 94568.
The district secretary will notify candidates for interview on Sept. 29, and a decision will be made as to an appointee no later than Oct. 18.
To be legally eligible to serve on the board, applicants must be at least 18 years old, a registered voter and must live within the district's service boundaries.
