BART Transbay Tube to San Francisco opens for commuters Tuesday

Regular service resumes on schedule

There is no BART train service between San Francisco and the East Bay again today with regular service starting again tomorrow in time for Tuesday's commuters.

Officials closed the Tranbay tube Friday night and it has remained closed while crews made track repairs.

BART will operate on a holiday schedule throughout the system today because of the Labor Day holiday.

BART is offering limited transbay bus service between 19th Street in Oakland and the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco today, but agency officials warned it could involve delays of up to one to two hours. Also, the West Oakland station is closed.

A similar weekend closure took place in early August.

Officials encourage travelers to plan ahead, avoid unnecessary transbay travel and seek alternate transportation options. For more info, visit www.bart.gov.
