The Livermore-Pleasanton International Association of Firefighters, Local 1974 have two collection dates set this month: Monday at the corner of Bernal and Valley avenues in Pleasanton and Aug. 25 at First Street and Las Positas Road in Livermore (both from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

The firefighters union collected more than $18,400 last year to help children living with muscular dystrophy.
