$48,000 and counting for cancer fight

14 teams, 124 participants in 24-hour fundraiser

Pleasanton's Relay for Life brought out 14 teams, 124 fundraising participants and 69 individual walkers to join the fight against cancer and raise money for research and patient resources as part of the 24-hour event at Pleasanton Middle School earlier this month.

Relay participants have raised $48,415.03 and counting, as of Thursday morning.

Donations can still be made online through Aug. 31 or by mail to the local American Cancer Society office at 2185 N. California Blvd. Suite 290 in Walnut Creek.
