Crash closes Isabel Avenue from Vineyard to Vallecitos

Road is expected to remain closed during evening commute

A major traffic crash on Isabel Avenue (State Highway 84) Wednesday morning snarled traffic and forced officials to close the road between Vineyard Avenue in Pleasanton its junction with and Vallecitos Road in Livermore.

The road is expected to stay closed through the late afternoon, and commuters are advised to take another route, such as Vallecitos Road, according to local transportation officials.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and his identity had not been released as of Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the big-rig and two other people were taken to a hospital.
