Castro Valley man arrested for suspected lewd acts at local daycare

Police say suspect, 22, abused teenage girl at Busy Bees, now Building Kidz preschool

An employee at a Pleasanton day care center was charged Monday with lewd and lascivious acts with a teen girl.

Pleasanton police said Alexander Kurtz, 22, of Castro Valley was arrested at about 3 p.m. last Thursday and charged by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office Monday.

Police said Kurtze was fired by his employer, Building Kidz Preschool, located at 4300 Mirador Drive, after police informed them of the allegations. The alleged acts happened before Building Kidz took over the preschool last September.

The victim was a 14-year-old former student at the school, called Busy Bees at the time, which also provides daycare services for school-age children. The arrest stemmed from a sexual abuse investigation into an event that allegedly occurred at the end of 2014, which was reported to police by the victim's mother on May 26.

Kurtz is not suspected of having any inappropriate relations with any current students at the school, police said.

The Alameda County District Attorney's Office said Kurtz pled not guilty at an arraignment Monday afternoon, and posted bail at $200,000. He is due in court for pretrial July 13.

This is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has information regarding this case, they can call the Pleasanton Police Department at 931-5100. Those who wish to remain anonymous may do so.

That is at the Egyptian Coptic Christian church. How exactly did they change ownership?
