Big swim meet in Pleasanton ends today

500 swimmers, plus their families and friends, in town for the event

About 500 swimmers and their families and friends are in Pleasanton today, closing a two-day swim meet hosted by the Pleasanton Seahawks at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center.

The two-day short course Senior II meet will run from 9 a.m. to about 3 p.m. For the duration of the swim meet, the aquatic center will be closed to the public.

Pleasanton Seahawks officials and the city of Pleasanton are encouraging participants to carpool to reduce impacts on the neighborhoods surrounding the aquatic center located at 4455 Black Ave. Overflow parking has also been reserved on both days at Gingerbread Preschool, Alisal Elementary School and Amador Valley High School, according to officials.
