TRAVELERS ALERT: East coast snowstorm prompting cancellations at SFO

36 departures, 49 arrivals cancelled so far today

The snowstorm on the nation's east coast has prompted the cancellation of 36 departures and 49 arrivals so far today at San Francisco International Airport.

The cancellations are flights going to or from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Boston Logan International Airport, Philadelphia International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport, said airport duty manager Brian Horne.

Horne said it's possible more flights will be canceled today.

"We'll just have to wait and see," he said. Most the flights canceled so far are morning and afternoon flights.

Fifty-three flights at San Francisco International Airport were canceled Monday, Horne said.

So far, there are no cancellations at Oakland International Airport or at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport.
