Pleasanton library sponsoring 'Banana Slug String Band2 special children's programs today at Amador Theater

Free, rollicking, ecology-minded music program starts at 1 p.m.

The Pleasanton Public Library is sponsoring

the award winning children's music group Banana Slug String Band today, brings its rollicking, ecology-minded music to the Amador Theater.

Slug songs range from rockin' boogies to gentle ballads, folk songs to reggae and rap. Music, theater, puppetry and audience participation make this free concert a perfect fit for all ages.

The one-hour concert begins at 1 p.m. at the theater, located at 1155 Santa Rita Rd. on the grounds of Amador Valley High School. Ample free parking is available.

Also, this summer's reading game, "Sherlock Bones and the Case of the Mysterious Library," is underway at the Pleasanton library. It's free and happening now through Aug. 3, and includes prizes, special events, crafts and movies.
