2nd installment of Alameda County property taxes due today

Penalty, delinquent tax fee added if deadline missed

The Alameda County tax collector's office has issued a reminder that the 2nd installment of the 2013-2014 Alameda County property tax that was due Feb. 1 must be paid and postmarked no later than midnight today, April 10.

This notice is for homeowners who pay their property taxes directly to the county each year and have not yet paid the full amount due on their 2013-14 taxes.

After the April 10 deadline, the county will add a delinquent penalty of 10% and a delinquent cost of $10.00.

Taxes can be paid by mail or online using eCheck or credit card.
