Is ADHD as common as some say it is? If so, what's the best way to help a child succeed?

Dr. Lisa R. Benton-Hardy, a psychiatrist specializing in therapy and psychopharmacology for children, adolescents and adults, will discuss ADHD in a free lecture from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Hart Middle School in Pleasanton.

Sponosored by the Pleasanton Council PTA Special Needs Committee, Benton-Hardy will talk about how to support a child with ADHD at home and at school, supportive treatments for ADHD and possible medication treatments.

Benton-Hardy is a graduate of Stanford University and a board certified psychiatrist. She currently focuses her private practice on therapy and

psychopharmacology for children, adolescents and adults. She has presented across the country on a variety of subjects and earned several awards for her research and leadership.

Benton-Hardy will share her knowledge on managing ADHD and several behavioral and medical approaches that could be pursued for children.

Great to see a very common problem being addressed by the Pleasanton Council PTA Special Needs Group. We need more real world activities like these.
