Dublin police holding community meeting tonight on recent home burglaries

Meeting follows Monday robbery in home on Cerreto Drive

The Dublin Police Department will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. tonight to discuss recent burglaries following the robbery in a home in the 5100 block of Cerreto Drive.

Three men broke into the home Monday night, tying up the resident and demanding money and valuables. Police said the victim had been asleep when the

suspects broke in.

The resident was awoken to three intruders, who subsequently tied up the victim. After rummaging through the home and stealing numerous items, the

suspects, described as three black men in their 20s, fled the scene, police said.

The victim was not physically injured and was able to notify a neighbor, who called police.

Video surveillance from the area shows a vehicle similar to a newer model, dark colored Chevrolet or GMC pick-up truck fleeing the area just after the incident.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Dublin police Lt. Nate Schmidt at (925) 556-4540.

Tonight's meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Dublin City Council Chambers, located at 100 Civic Plaza in the Dublin Civic Center.
