Pleasanton and Dublin police are urging drivers to be extra cautious today as students in both cities start back to school.

Traffic at and around local school sites can be hectic and police are reminding students, parents and area residents to allow extra time when traveling during school drop off and pick up times, and to drive cautiously and act courteously to others.

Police will be providing traffic education and enforcement around all schools, including enforcement of texting while driving, during back to school week. They also are reminding motorists that the posted speed limit around schools when children are present is 25 mph.
