Green Scene Fair at Hacienda Business Park today

75 vendors will show advantages of healthy living, going green

The city of Pleasanton and Hacienda Business Park will present a free Green Scene Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today to provide demonstrations and information on green building and landscape design, solar power and energy conservation, waste reduction and recycling, water conservation, financial incentives, and much more.

The event will be held at the CarrAmerica Conference Center, 4400 Rosewood Drive in Pleasanton.

This comprehensive Green Scene Fair will feature approximately 75 different vendors specializing in green practices in six main categories: Air, Water, Waste, Commuting and Transportation, Healthy Homes and Healthy Living, and Energy. Representatives from various green businesses and agencies will be on hand to provide answers to questions and information.

Also featured will be a treasure hunt and raffle of green-related prizes. There will also be a display of fuel efficient vehicles and demonstration buses from the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (Wheels). Sustainably produced food will be available for purchase.

The Green Scene Fair is the first in a series of activities and events that will be folded into Pleasanton's climate action plan. It will serve as a roadmap to reduce the carbon footprint of the collective community that includes both residents and employees who work in Pleasanton.
