Stoneridge Shopping Center celebrates 30th anniversary

Facebook fans can share mall memories, compete for gift card

Stoneridge Shopping Center is celebrating its 30th anniversary as a major regional mall in Pleasanton.

Stoneridge first opened on Sept. 4, 1980, after two years of construction by over 15,000 workers. It began with three major department stores – JC Penney, Macy's and Emporium-Capwell – and over 127 specialty shops, restaurants and services.

Now the mall has five department stores – Nordstrom, Macy's Women's, Macy's Men's Children's & Home, JC Penney and Sears – and over 165 specialty stores and restaurants.

As part of the celebration, shoppers can enter to win a $198.0 gift card through the "Stoneridge 30 Years of Memories" Facebook contest at facebook.com/stoneridgeshoppingcenter. Facebook fans can share their memories of Stoneridge from now through October 6, with fans voting on their favorites. The top vote-getter will win the gift card.

"Over the last 30 years, Stoneridge Shopping Center has blossomed into the premier shopping destination in the East Bay. This is a chance to celebrate with customers and the Pleasanton community how far we've come," said Carrie Williams, director of marketing and business development.

Wow... I can't beleive it. I had the job of Information Booth and that first day was crazy.... I will never forget it. That was my first job here in Pleasanton and everyone came to the mall that day.
It is really nice to see how it has changed thru the years. Happy 30th Birthday.....

I remember. We are so fortunate that FORWARD THINKERS moved us forward. Communities need forward thinkers....to overcome the deadwood and roadblocks who want to keep us trapped. Open minds are beautiful. Happy Birthday for us.
