Pleasanton Public Library offers Volunteer Information Meetings for teens in high school that may volunteer at the library at various times of the year like the Friends of the Library Book Sale or help with the Children's Summer Reading Program. Students (not parents please) will need to visit the blog at www.ptownteenlib.blogspot.com to find out when new volunteer training dates are available before e-mailing Teresa Parham at tparham@ci.pleasanton.ca.us. Also, middle school students are invited to help run the library's summer reading program by becoming a "Kid Power Volunteer" to help children sign up for and play the summer reading game, as well as distribute prizes. For more information, call the Children's Desk 931-3400, ext. 8.
