Pleasanton Police ID armed robbery suspect

Faces similar charges in string of armed robberies

Pleasanton police have identified a suspect in a months-old armed robbery at Check N Go store in the 2700 block of Hopyard Road.

Bobby Lee Richard, 24, of Rancho Cordova was named a suspect after he was arrested during a similar robbery at a Check N Go in Rohnert Park; police there recognized Richard from a composite sketch police here had circulated to local departments, according to a police report.

In addition, the local victim from the May robbery was able to identify Richard from a photo lineup, and a fingerprint from the local robbery matched Richards'. He's been charged with one count of armed robbery in the local case.

Police said he'd also been identified as a suspect in a string of Check N Go robberies in the Bay Area; Richard is in custody in the Sonoma county Jail on robbery charges.
