Livermore Safeway to host wine event today

 

Safeway in Livermore will be hosting a special champagne event for customers starting at 3 p.m. today.

The event, "Bubble and Bites," will feature Tom Tiburzi, winemaker at Domaine Chandon in Yountville and Perry Hoffman, chef at Etoile Restaurant.

Six champagnes, paired with appetizers from the restaurant, will be offered to customers in three separate seatings at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tiburzi will also be available to sign bottles.

The cost is $5 and pre-registration is required. Guests will be seated in the store's wine bar area for the 45 minute tasting.

To reserve a seat, visit the store's liquor department or call 455-2520 and ask for Wine Steward Ken Dyleski. Safeway is located at 4495 First Street, Livermore.
