'Opening Day' event scheduled at Del Valle regional park today

Campfire scheduled for tomorrow night for visitors

East Bay Regional Park District officials will hold an "opening

day" event today for a visitor center at the Del Valle Regional Park in unincorporated Alameda County south of Livermore.

The Rocky Ridge Visitor Center, located on the west side of Lake

Del Valle, will be the site of an opening day event where campers and park visitors can come in throughout the day to talk with naturalists and student aides about the park, the lake, and upcoming events.

A campfire will also be held in the evening hours at the park's

amphitheater, where visitors can take part in songs, stories and games.
