Check out our “gotcha” pictures from last Wednesday night’s Cinco de Mayo First Wednesday party in downtown Pleasanton. It was the opening First Wednesday for 2010, and the crowds were terrific.

The next First Wednesday celebration is June 2 – see you there!

  1. Why Do We Celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Or better yet did we? I arrived down town about 5:45 PM and left about 7:15 P.M.. I didn’t notice any Hispanics nor did I see any Mexican food or hear any Mexican music. There was a rock and roll band. I did see a few Mexican blankets and hats on a few vendors tables. When I was in Mexico a couple years ago for 5/5 no one even celebrated it. It was like a regular day in Mexico. I expected to hear some Mexican music, maybe some food for sale. Nothing. Was this more PDA hype? They could of at least went by Home Depot and hired a few Hispanics to stand around and look happy.

  2. We don’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The US celebrates it. It is a regular day in Mexico. You didn’t recognize us because we don’t all look like your stereotype of us. Your last comment was unnecessary.
