In a search that's lasted nearly six months, Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD) has selected its next superintendent to replace John Casey when he retires June 30.
A pool of 30 initial candidates was narrowed to six, then four, according to School Board President Chris Grant.
The final four were interviewed in a series of closed-door sessions April 16-18. Those candidates met with a community panel of administrators, parents, community leaders and teachers union representatives.
"We have a candidate that we have extended an offer to," Grant said this morning. Grant said he expects a formal announcement today.
PUSD brought in an outside firm, Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd. (HYA) to conduct the search, at a cost estimated to run as high as $31,000.
