San Ramon medical center celebrates 'topping off' of new ER expansion project

Installation of last steel beam hailed with tree, flag

Ceremonies were held recently to celebrate the installation of the last steel beam as construction work continues on a new emergency department and laboratory at San Ramon Regional Medical Center.

In the spirit of a Viking ship-launching tradition, the public and hospital staff held a "Topping Off" in honor of the new project. The ceremony celebrated placing the last steel beam on the structure with a tree and a flag.
