Driver drifts off I-680 with car landing in 12-foot-deep ditch

Police investigating mid-afternoon Sunday accident

The unidentified driver was not injured in this single vehicle accident on southbound I-680 between the Bernal and Sunol Boulevard interchanges Sunday afternoon.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident, which involved the driver drifting to the right and off the highway and landing facing the wrong way at the bottom of a 12-foot embankment.
