Executive search firm seeks public commens tonight as it recruits new Pleasanton school superintendent

Successor would take over when Supt. John Casey retires in June

The consulting firm of Hazard, Young, and Attea & Associates, LTD (HYA) will hold a community workshop at 7 p.m. tonight regarding the selection of a new school superintendent for Pleasanton.

The firm has been retained by the school board to recruit a successor to Supt. John Casey, who is retiring in June after eight years at the helm of the Pleasanton district.

HYA representatives said they are holding the meeting to seek public comments on the qualifications, characteristics and other criteria it should use in recruiting a new superintendent.

The public meeting will be held in the school district's board meeting room at 4665 Bernal Ave.

Tonight's meeting will be the first of two that have been scheduled. The second meeting is scheduled for next Thursday, Jan. 14, also at 7 p.m. in the school district's board room.
