New year looks good for Embarcadero Media


A new year, a new decade, and Embarcadero Media Co. is continuing its mission to deliver local news to residents.

"We have had tremendous response this year with our online endeavors," said Gina Channell-Allen, president of Embarcadero Media's East Bay operation. "The page views and unique visitors have almost doubled on, and have tripled on"

Products of the East Bay Division, with offices located in Pleasanton, are as follows:

* The Pleasanton Weekly newspaper is mailed to 14,000 homes in Pleasanton every Friday and will celebrate its 10th anniversary in January. Its 24/7 news Web site,, has 180,000 page views and almost 40,000 unique visitors monthly. Its Express News goes directly to e-mail inboxes Monday through Friday to about 6,000 subscribers.

* The Tri Valley Views monthly newspaper is mailed to 11,000 homes in Dublin the fourth Monday of every month. It has a 24/7 news Web site,, which is new and growing; its Express news digest goes directly to more than 500 e-mail inboxes once a week.

* The Danville Express news Web site,, (formerly has increased page views to 100,000 per month and nearly 35,000 unique visitors per month. This is nearly a 50 percent increase in page views and an almost 85 percent increase in unique visitors since October 2009. Its Express news digest goes directly to 6,000 e-mail subscriber inboxes five days a week, Monday through Friday.

The Danville Express print marketing mailer is delivered to 10,000 homes in the area on the second Friday of the month. The distribution rotates so that in the course of three months it will reach 100 percent of the homes in Alamo, Danville, Diablo and Blackhawk.

* The San Ramon Express 24/7 news Web site,, has been up for six months and has grown to 11,000 page views and 2,300 unique visitors per month. Its Express news digest goes out directly to e-mail inboxes Monday through Friday to 800 subscribers.

The San Ramon Express print marketing mailer, which began in October, is being delivered to 11,000 homes in San Ramon on the third Friday of every month. It rotates through home addresses so after two months it has reached 100 percent of the homes in San Ramon.

Embarcadero East Bay also will continue to publish special sections such as INFO, a local resource guide, Staying Healthy, Who's Who in Business, Readers Choice, and other special and custom print/event-driven projects.
