Board AC Transit's 'Holiday Bus'--then ride free

Brightly-colored bus will travel different routes each day throughNew Year's Eve

The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District will be offering free rides to all passengers on the agency's decorative "Holiday Bus" until New Year's Eve.

The holiday bus will run along a different route each day so riders throughout the district will be able to ride it for free.

The bus has a brightly colored paint job to depict the joy of the holiday season, according to AC Transit officials.

"In these tough times, this is a token of gratitude for our loyal customers," Interim General Manager Mary King said in a statement.

"A free bus ride might be a small thing, but it is a way to show that we care about our passengers and the communities we serve. And maybe, hopefully, it will bring smiles at a time when smiles are badly needed, making this season a little brighter for all of us," King said.
