Santa Claus now at Stoneridge Mall as Christmas holiday shopping season begins

Hundreds join the jolly old man under a colorfully-decorated, 3-story-tall tree in center court

Santa Claus and holiday decorations and events are filling Stoneridge Shopping Center where an early start on Christmas shopping is under way.

Santa has already attracted hundreds of children and their parents to the mall, with pre-schoolers showing up all day and more coming after school and expected this coming weekend as Thanksgiving approaches. Particularly impressive are the oversized wrapped presents under the mall's three-story-tall tree in the center court.

The mall is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Nov. 25 and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. next Sunday. It will be closed Thanksgiving Day and then open at 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. for "black Friday" Nov. 27. Its holiday hours through Christmas will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with shorter hours on Sundays and closing early on Christmas Eve. For more information, call (925) 463-2778.
