Traffic to be diverted on I-580 in early morning hours starting tomorrow

3-hour closures planned for 3 days just after midnight tonight

Interstate 580 will be closed in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for overpass construction work at the El Charro/Fallon roads interchange.

Traffic will be routed around the closures by on and off ramps i both directions at the interchange.

The closures are needed to allow the construction contractor to remove formwork from the new barrier rail along the east side of the overcrossing, which is being widened to four lanes.

Westbound lanes of I-580 will be closed starting at midnight and continuing until 3 a.m. all three days. Then the eastbound lanes will be closed starting at 1 a.m. and continuing to 4 a.m.

Access to Fallon Road and El Charro Road will be maintained. At no time will both eastbound and westbound I-580 be closed simultaneously.

Motorists may experience minor delays exiting and reentering the freeway and may want to consider alternate routes to avoid construction-related delays

Questions regarding the detour and construction of the I-580 Interchange project should be directed to the city of Dublin's Resident Engineer at (510) 760-8394.
