Services for Michael Gable to be held this evening, tomorrow

Fund set up for father's two young children

A vigil service for Michael Curran Gable, who died unexpectedly Sept. 17, will be held this evening with a funeral mass tomorrow.

Mr. Gable was born Nov. 16, 1970 in Seattle, the son of Beverly and Thomas P. Gable.

He grew up in Monroe, Wash. and then moved to California where he played Division 1 soccer and graduated from Saint Mary's College in Moraga.

His family said: "He was known for his passion for life, adding that his energy lit up a room, had a warm and caring personality, infectious smile and was known to all as a great listener. He dreamed 'big,' and in many cases, made his dreams come true."

Mr. Gable also was successful in his professional career, where he earned top sales awards.

"He was a role model to his colleagues," his family said. "Family and friends were everything to him and he would go above and beyond to help those around him. He loved soccer, music, golf, reading, finances and travel."

Mr. Gable is survived by his wife, Michelle; son and daughter, Matteo and Grace; parents, Beverly and Thomas Gable; sister, Monika Little; and numerous family and friends.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Graham-Hitch Mortuary. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with a reception immediately following.

In honor of Mr. Gable, a fund has been established for his children. Donations can be made to the Michael Gable Children's Fund at Fremont Bank, 6654 Koll Center Pkwy., Ste 345, Pleasanton, CA 94566.
