The last one of the year, the First Wednesday Street Party will celebrate Pleasanton from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 2 in downtown. Dance to the music of D-Lucca. Visit the beer and wine garden.   1. I love the activity and the community coming out for these events, so they will be missed as summer ends. Art/ Painting demonstrations will be taking place during the Street Party in Front of Towne Center Books by Watercolorist Sally Haig and Gary Winter’s $100 bill made out of Finishing Nails ( 20,000 or so ) will be out front of Alexander’s Gallery. Head to the other side of Main and see a New Exhibit inside the Berry Patch and Celebrate with Award Winning Local Artists Saturday night 5-9 with refreshments and cheer for “The Small Canvas.”

  2. I’m sure the residence of the area are equally thrilled that the amplified, parking overflow, littering, throngs that substitute for a visional plan for downtown Pleasanton will be gone – at least until the Ice Rink takes its place.
