"School of Rock" is tonight's free outdoor movie in Delucchi Park

Downtown feature is part of week-long celebrations in Pleasanton

"School of Rock", the ultimate Battle of the Bands movie, will be shown tonight at downtown's Delucchi Park on First Street.

The movie, the third in a series of four films being shown free of charge on a giant 26-foot outdoor screen, is sponsored by the city's Parks and Community Services Department. It is part of a week of downtown festivities planned by merchants and the city marking the start of August.

One more outdoor movie is scheduled in this summer series, with Steven Spielberg's box office smash "Raiders of the Lost Ark" to be shown Thursday, Aug. 20.

With temperatures expected to drop into the low 60s late tonight, movie-goers are advised to bring sweaters and blankets to keep warm during the outdoor presentation.

For more information, call the Parks and Community Services Department at 931-5340.
