The Crisis and great weather draw large audience at Concert in the Park

Local favorite The Crisis played classic rock and honkey tonk/southern rock and blues at Friday's Concert in the Park series, sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association. The Crisis was sponsored by Alameda County Fair.

As the concert ended, special gifts were announced in a drawing of coupons concertgoers entered from Friday's Pleasanton Weekly. Alisha Perdue, event coordinator for the Pleasanton Downtown Association, distributed the gifts that were announced by Gina Channell-Allen, president of the Weekly.

On July 3, Burton & Company will bring jazzy rhythm and blues to the concert, held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lions Wayside Park, corner of First and Neal streets.

A drawing is held every week at approximately 8:15 p.m. for prizes donated by downtown merchants. Drawing forms can be found in the Pleasanton Weekly, the media sponsor for the Concerts in the Park, for that night's drawing. Forms can also be printed from the electronic edition on
