Power outage affects homes in southern Pleasanton

About 2,500 people were without power Thursday evening, according to Pacific Gas and Electric, who said it was equipment failure that led to the outage.

Tamar Sarkissian, spokeswoman for PG&E, said the power was reported out around 6:40 p.m. and a majority of service was restored in about an hour. Some residents, however, were without power until about 5 a.m. Friday.
