Minor earthquake reported near Danville this afternoon

3.7-magnitude temblor reported to have depth of 5 miles

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7 struck near Danville this afternoon.

According to the USGS, the small quake occurred at about 3:15 p.m. and had a depth of about 5 miles.

Its epicenter was reported to be about 1 mile northeast of Danville, according to preliminary reports.
