The local office of Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) will host briefings today in advance of tomorrow's nationwide switch from analog to digital television (DTV) service.
The free seminars will provide an opportunity for people to ask questions and receive information about the switch from representatives from the Federal Communications Commission.
Consumers who currently use an antenna to receive a signal on their TV set will need to set up a converter box to continue receiving service after the switch. Coupons are available to help consumers purchase converter boxes and the form to apply for this coupon will be available at McNerney's office briefings.
The briefings will be held from moon to from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the congressman's office at 5776 Stoneridge Mall Rd. Suite 175. For more information, call 737-0727.
