Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Laurel Alice Williams (LAW) Foundation will be launched Friday night at a dinner honoring a Foothill High School alumna who died in a car accident in October 2007.

The scholarship foundation will help a student transferring to a four-year university from Las Positas College in Livermore and who aspires to be a positive influence on society. The foundation will also promote the expansion of Safe Rides, a service created for teens by teens, which provides free and confidential rides for teens on the weekend.

The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Crow Canyon Country Club, 711 Silver Lake Drive in Danville. Tickets are $75 and include dinner. There will also be an auction.
