Fund set up for son of mother killed in Vasco car crash

25-year-old woman crashed head-on into another vehicle south of Byron Friday

A trust fund is being set up for a 5-year-old boy whose mother was killed in a car crash on Vasco Road, south of Byron, Friday night.

Kaylynn Yaryan, 25, of Oakley, was driving a Toyota Camry southon North Vasco Road when for unknown reasons the vehicle went into northbound traffic and collided with a Ford Explorer, according to Officer Mike Wright of the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 7:15 p.m. on North Vasco Road just south of Camino Diablo, Wright said. The 72-year-old woman who was driving the Explorer was flown to John Muir Medical Center as a precaution due to complaints of pain.

Yaryan was born Dec. 19, 1983 in San Diego. She moved to Livermore in 1998 and attended Livermore High School. She worked at Hallmark in Livermore.

A trust will be set up for her 5-year-old son, Joseph Austin Schweig with Chevron Credit Union. Donations can be directed to Joseph Schweig Trust/Cornerstone Fellowship, 348 North Canyon Parkway, Livermore, CA 94551.

I wasn't aware of this tragedy, but my hopes and prayers go out to the family this young woman has left behind. It is heart breaking to hear of a child losing a paernt so young. I hope the family keeps her memory alive for him, so his memories are kept intact
