McNerney hosting veterans history project today in Pleasanton

Goal is to collect and preserve firsthand accounts of veterans for Library of Congress

Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) will hold a recording session for the Veterans History Project today in Pleasanton.

The goal of the Veterans History Project is to collect and preserve the firsthand accounts of American war veterans by archiving video and audio recordings of their remembrances at the Library of Congress. He'll be in Lodi for a similar session earlier Friday, and then he's off to Pleasanton's session.

Students from McNair High School's Communications Department, Pleasanton Middle School and California High School's Regional Occupational Video Production Program will be taking part in the project. The students will conduct one-on-one interviews with veterans and compile an audio or video recording of the account that will be submitted to the Library of Congress.

The Pleasanton recording will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at McNerney's Pleasanton Congressional office, 5776 Stoneridge Mall Road, Ste. 175.

Veterans interested in the project are asked to call the congressman's office in advance to schedule a time to participate, 737-0727.

As I have said in prior postings, at least Rep McNerney is out there. We never saw Pombo.

dublinmike: what a lame comment. "at least he was out there." i am sure pombo made many appearances as well.

i am glad that the vets are being honored, of course. they deserve a lot...but remember mcnerney is generally not in favor of our military having voted against funding for iraq. he is also a hard core democrat who generally is not in favor of a strong national defense...voting against the US becoming energy independent regarding oil production and refining.

while i am not going to say he necessarily is in favor of prosecuting bush and cheney for war crimes, i would not be surprised if it were true.

in general, he...like other true democrats...weaken this country immensely in so many ways. if i were a vet, i would not be excited at all about mcnerney's presence.

MacNerney only supports verterans for gaining voates. He promises support for the Military but excuses his votes in the House of Representatives against the funding of our Nation's defense; purely on basis of his political subserviance to an political extreme left which controls party activity. Also, remember the maximum of politics is those who believe the promises of a politician are those who fail to hold them accoutable for thier votes.

MacNerney lied extensively to unseat Pombo and continues to lie to the voters. he is a fraud.

Call and ask Mr. MacNerney why he has not supported HR 1207 to audit the Federal Reserve for the first time in over 50 years.
