Sonoma County earthquake strikes near Geysers

Late night quake measures 2.2 magnitude

The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.2 struck Thursday night in Sonoma County.

According to the USGS, the earthquake struck at about 11:40 p.m. and had a depth of 0.6 miles.

The quake was centered 4 miles northeast of The Geysers and 14 miles east of Cloverdale, according to the USGS.
