Pleasanton police arrested five men Monday night for allegedly robbing and beating a man and threatening to beat up another man.
The incident was reported at about 9:25 p.m. near Vineyard Avenue and First Street, police said.
A 27-year-old man reported walking on Vineyard Avenue when a green Cadillac pulled up, and three men got out of the vehicle, ran toward him and threatened to beat him up, according to police.
The suspects then told the victim he was not who they were looking for, and they returned to the vehicle and drove away, police said.
The victim called police, and officers responding to the area, located the green Cadillac vehicle nearby at Kottinger Village Park and detained five suspects in and around the vehicle. The victim came to the scene and identified three of the suspects, according to police.
While officers had the suspects detained, a second victim approached the officers and said he had been robbed and beaten shortly before by the same suspects.
The second victim positively identified all five suspects, who had allegedly robbed him of his money and bicycle. He sustained moderate head injuries in the beating, and was taken to a local hospital, police said.
Stephen Castillo, 22, Tyler Koopman, 20, Daniel Meola, 22, Naeem McGhee, 18, and Andrew Barlow, 23, were arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail on robbery charges.
Barlow lives in Livermore, while the other four suspects are from Pleasanton, according to police. Barlow is on probation for battery and grand theft, and an additional charge of probation violation will be sought, police said.
