Friday job fair to help older workers

Ages 50 and older can seek employment at the Senior Center May 1

As the unemployment rate continues to climb, the Pleasanton Senior Center is home to a free job fair tomorrow for workers ages 50 and older.

Rebecca Martin, founder and owner of a Livermore-based career advisement firm, will discuss the multigenerational workforce at 9:15 a.m. From 10 a.m. to noon, participants can attend workshops on topics including interview techniques, training opportunities, networking and the Internet, and how to create and update a resume.

There will also be an exhibitor hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for participants to connect with area employers and volunteer agencies.
