'Hit with pros' tennis event, benefit tomorrow at Amador

Public can donate used rackets, tennis balls to needy Bay Area high schools

"Hit with the pros" is the theme of a special tennis demonstration day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow on the tennis courts at Amador Valley High School.

The benefit and try-out competition is being sponsored by Pleasanton Golf & Tennis, a store located at the northwest corner of the Raley's shopping center that caters to high school tennis and golf teams. The event also will include try-outs with local pros using some of the newest rackets, including Babolat, HEAD, Wilson and Prince.

Beth Logan, who owns and operates the store with her husband and golf pro Phil Resnikoff, said Saturday's demo day is open to the public without charge. Those with used rackets and balls are also to urged to stop by to donate them to the Patton School of Tennis Foundation, which benefits underserved high school tennis programs throughout the Bay Area.
