I-580 lane closures begin in Livermore

3 eastbound lanes from Vasco to Greenville will close each night through March 23

Lane closures are scheduled for eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Livermore every night through March 23 to allow the California Department of Transportation to continue construction as part of a highway widening project.

Nightly closures are scheduled for up to three eastbound lanes, from the Vasco Road Interchange to the Greenville Road Interchange, from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday; 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Wednesday; 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday; 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday; and 10 p.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Caltrans.

The construction program is the first phase of a Tri-Valley plan that calls for improvements to the I-580, state Highway 84, and Interstate Highway 680 corridors. It is sponsored by the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency, in cooperation with Caltrans.
